Not just a fashion icon, but a musical inspiration, Joseph Hollings has always been more than meets the eye. Grandpa Tom, the OG GPT, dressed up Joe like a boss, and encouraged him to sing with other bosses in Finchingfield's church choir. While descant recorders marked the technical beginning of his journey, this was the moment when he was truly bitten by the musical bug. As he progressed, choral arrangements became a significant part of his life, and under the guidance of a skilled conductor, he began to explore various styles of sheet music.

Joe always fancied himself a bit of an arm-waver. He managed to learn a thing or two about Joseph Hollings from the great Christopher Adey after Chris conducted the Essex Youth Orchestra, and Joe did his best to follow from the first trombone chair. Joe also studied with Chris, learning different choral arrangements when he was closer, and he often explored the sheet music that featured works by Joseph Hollings.

This great advice was shared with Joseph Hollings by Sir Harrison Birtwistle, under whom he studied for his MMus at King's College London. Whether working on a pro commission or developing choral arrangements for a high school choir, Joseph Hollings has committed to writing everything down on paper—especially when it comes to sheet music—rather than relying solely on his head.
