In this dramatic piece, the horn seeks serenity yet finds itself in turbulence throughout. Here, the motif transcends melody, making it an ideal choice for a beginning or mid-recital performance.

Trombone & Piano, 2018. This composition features one movement characterized by a lyrical feel, agitated sections, and fast passages. Commissioned by Shachar Israel of the Cleveland Orchestra, the title is drawn from a passage in the Book of Psalms and aims to capture the energy and beauty present in the fleeting moments just before dawn. In Hebrew, 'Shachar' means 'Dawn.' The piece maintains a tonal backbone while embracing its dissonance, making it suitable for experienced college musicians and beyond who play trombone and piano.
